Mbimbi Hit the Waves Featured

  Mbimbi, a mercurial music band that that promises to take Angola by storm will this week launch  its first release titled "Let's Play” at Shoprite Shopping Mall in the city of Moçâmedes, capital of Namibe. The  13 tracks album, has original compositions in different genres, ranging Semba, Rumba, Rock, Reggae, Sungura and Soul. Afrika247 was informed that 5,000 copies of the release were printed in CD format, for sales on the day of the launch in Moçâmedes. A copy of it will be retailed for  5.73 RUR. Faustino Katingo, head of the group and father of the band's six members, said that of the thirteen songs, only six are children's songs, the rest of them being sung for adults.  The release is totally acoustic, and was recorded in the MMP studio in Huíla province and mastered in Dubai.

The release will be launched in Luanda on  April 7, at Independence Square. Some of tracks have been played by a number of Angolan radio stations   have sparked the interest of millions of people across the country.   The group’a  video clip have also been featured by several television networks.
