Over 12,000 public and primary and secondary schools teachers will participate in a two weeks training program. The program will be organised under the auspices of the French cultural ministry and the Tunisian ministry of Education in the 2018-2019 and 2020 summer holiday seasons. The plan was part of a cultural exchange package worked out by the French and Tunisian governments, as revealed by Olivier Poivre d’Arvor, French ambassador in Tunis. Both governments formalised the signing of the agreement during French president,  Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Tunisia about a week ago.

As part of the training program, Tunisian teachers will undergo training in game based novel digital learning methods. Conceivably, the program which will be conducted by experts from France will radically improve teaching skills and performance of Tunisian teachers, as well as boost parents’ confidence in Tunisian education system. The French government is due to release an estimated sum of  1, 512 776.14 EUR for the project. The French ambassador also viewed the rising demand for private French schools in Tunisia in positive lights. He promised that his government will partner  “with private investors and a French homologation to open in the next 5 to 10 years prep-schools and high schools in Sousse in Sfax and may be in Bizerte, after the recent creation of a new primary school in Djerba, Tunis and three in Sfax.”
